The collection consists of video recordings, printed ephemera, and images related to the program Modern art in Los Angeles: feminist art in southern California, held on 27 March 2007 at the Getty Center. This panel discusssion brought together five distinguished artists, all of whom made significant contributions to the emergence of feminist art, to consider the origins and legacy of the movement, and especially the central role played by southern California artists in the 1970s. The panel was comprised of Eleanor Antin, Barbara Carrasco, Maren Hassinger, Rachel Rosenthal, and Faith Wilding, and was moderated by journalist Jori Finkel.

Rachel Rosenthal (November 9, 1926 – May 10, 2015) was an interdisciplinary and performance artist, teacher, actress, and animal rights activist based in Los Angeles.
